The challenge of a long narrow block and the need to accommodate a large family was a puzzle we could not resisit solving.

                                                      

The young couple of this residence required the ability to entertain a large extended family with ease while still retaining comfortable human scale spaces. The adoption of multi-use open plan that can quickly be adapted to cater for large groups of 30 or more on a regular basis called for efficient space planning.

In addition, the long narrow building block presented challenges for retaining the passive energy efficiency of the house while still providing extensive vista to an adjoining public open space.
